AUS v IND, 3rd Test: Frustrated by rain breaks, Mitchell Starc argues with umpire-OxBig News Network

Mitchell Starc was left frustrated by the constant rain breaks and was seen arguing with the umpire as the players were forced to leave the field once again on Day 4 of the Gabba Test. The weather in Brisbane has been a villain for Australia right from the start with only Day 2 being the only time the game went on without any interruption.

For the rest of the time, the weather conditions forced the day’s play to a complete halt and at times, umpires being forced to call for early stumps. The game on Tuesday was heading towards the tea break when another drizzle started in Brisbane. However, as compared to the previous ones, it was of less intensity and the players could have stayed on. However, the umpires Richard Illingworth, Richard Kettleborough felt it was best for the players to go back in.

This would create a hilarious moment as Starc was left fuming and argued with the umpires. There was a moment when Starc was seen rolling his eyes before walking off. You can see the full video below:

This was not the first time that Starc was left frustrated by the weather. During Day 3, both him and KL Rahul were visibly irritated to have the rain stop proceedings.

Rain halts Australia’s momentum

The recent rain break at the stroke of team came not at the best time for Australia. The hosts had just ended the partnership between Nitish Kumar Reddy and Ravindra Jadeja, which had been frustrating them. Nitish was bowled by Cummins, which gave Australia a chance to clean up the tail of India.

KL Rahul’s 84 and Jadeja’s 65 not out has kept the hosts at bay for now. With rain being predicted for Day 5 as well, Australia will be hoping that there no further breaks in proceedings.
