MS Dhoni’s residence in Ranchi got a major makeover as the residence was given his favourite number 7 and is adorned by some of his iconic shots on its walls. Dhoni is known for his connection with the No.7 as it was his jersey number during his playing career. The 43-year-old also wears it for CSK in the IPL.

The BCCI also retired Dhoni’s jersey number after his retirement. Now, the former Indian captain has given his favourite number to his house in Harmu as well. According to a report by Dainik Bhaskar, the residence will have the No.7 attached to it. Apart from this, there’s also a wall that contains some of Dhoni’s iconic shots and wicketkeeping actions, including the famous helicopter. The house has now become a selfie point for fans.

The Jharkhand State Housing Board had given Dhoni the land to build the house in 2009. The former Indian skipper built the house after buying a plot next to the alloted land and named it Shaurya. The CSK star currently lives in his farmhouse in Simaliya, Ranchi.

Dhoni’s special connection to No.7

Apart from 7 being his jersey number, Dhoni has some more connections with the number 7. His birthday is on July 7 and the month happens to be the 7th month of the year. The former India captain also has a lifestyle brand, which is also named as ‘SEVEN.’

No.7 also starts ‘Thala for a reason’ meme

The ‘Thala for a reason meme’ also kicked off because of the number seven. The connection went viral during the IPL matches, with many joining in. Dhoni said that he knows about the meme and was thankful to the fans for turning it in his favour.

“I know about it. But I don’t know the reason behind it. I don’t know if it is funny, if it is supposed to pull my leg, it’s a banter, it’s a meme. I think my fans have turned it into something that’s in my favour. I have got brilliant fans. I don’t need to open my mouth or say something. If they feel somebody has been nasty to me, they take care of it. So I am keeping quiet, enjoying my life and trying to play good cricket. And that’s what it is for me,” said Dhoni.

Dhoni is all set to make his return in the IPL.
