Premier League: Arsenal complete signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea-OxBig News Network

Arsenal have completed the signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea, the Premier League side announced on Friday, July 18. Madueke has signed a five-year deal with the Gunners for a reported deal of 50 million pounds with add-ons.

Madueke made 92 appearances for Chelsea after joining them from PSV Eindhoven in 2023 and scored 30 goals during that time and played a key role in their Conference League win last season. The England international became the fourth signing of the season for Arsenal and the second from Chelsea during the ongoing transfer window after they got Kepa Arrizabalaga as well. Madueke will wear the number 20 jersey at the club and joins Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard and Kepa at the club.

What Madueke said after the move

Madueke expressed his delight after making the move and said he is expecting his time at Arsenal to be a successful one.

“I’m somebody who goes with my gut feeling a lot of the time and I feel like it’s steered me in the right direction so far. So, I don’t think it’s going to be any different here. I think it’s going to be a great success and I’m really happy to be here.”

“It’s already a great team with a clear identity and I can’t wait to bring my style to the team and try and help the boys as much as possible to take that next step.”

When asked about his goals for the upcoming season, Madueke said he wants Arsenal to win all the competitions they’re taking part in and feels the current squad is capable of making it happen.

“To win all the competitions we’re in, I feel like we’re definitely capable of doing that. And also to help the team in every way I can and grow as a player, but also as a person,” said Madueke.

Arsenal aren’t finished with their business in the transfer market with them locked in negotiations for the signing of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting and the impending arrival of Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia.
