Indian captain Rohit Sharma shared an emotional farewell message for Ravichandran Ashwin as the veteran announced his retirement from international cricket. Ashwin decided to call time on his illustrious career after Day 5 of the 3rd Test was called off due to rain.Rohit, who was present alongside Ashwin at the press conference where the announcement was made, later took to Instagram to express his heartfelt sentiments. Referring to Ashwin as a “true OG” and a “legend of Indian cricket,” Rohit acknowledged the veteran’s unmatched contributions as a match-winner for the team. Ashwin retired after a phenomenal career, featuring in 106 Tests where he claimed 537 wickets and scored 3,503 runs, including six centuries and 14 fifties.
