Smriti Mandhana rises to No. 2 in ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings-OxBig News Network

India opener Smriti Mandhana has climbed to the second spot in the latest ICC women’s ODI batting rankings after an impressive series against Ireland. Mandhana is the only Indian in the top 10 after scoring 135 in the third ODI and 41 and 73 in the first and second match of the series.

Mandhana is ranked second with 738 points, while South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt (773 points) leads the list and Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu (733 points) completes the top three.

Jemimah Rodrigues has reached 17th spot after scoring her maiden ODI hundred against Ireland, while captain Harmanpreet Kaur is in 15th spot after missing the entire three-match ODI series against Ireland.

Deepti Sharma is ranked sixth on the all-rounders’ list with 344 points. Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner leads the all-rounder’s ranking after starring vs. England in the women’s Ashes. Gardner took four wickets and scored 146 runs in the England series, going past South Africa veteran Marizanne Kapp to clinch the top spot.

Sophie Ecclestone is ranked first in the bowling rankings, while Deepti took the fourth spot with 680 points. Gardner was brilliant with both bat and ball as the Australian women’s side won all three ODIs against England.

Gardner scored her maiden ODI century against England, hitting a run-a-ball 102 in Hobart. The Australian all-rounder then followed it with another Player-of-the-Match performance in the first ODI at North Sydney Oval, where she took 3 for 19 in 6.1 overs before hitting an unbeaten 42 off 44 balls to guide Australia to victory, helping the hosts start the Ashes series strongly.

The Australian star has now achieved a career-high 469 points in the All-Rounder ODI Rankings, 25 points ahead of second-placed Kapp. Gardner has also reached a career-best 648 points as a batter, climbing five spots to break into the top 10 of the batting rankings.
