India captain Rohit Sharma returned to Mumbai just a day after winning the Champions Trophy. The skipper was back to his daddy duties on Monday, and was seen carrying a sleeping Samaira in his arms.

Rohit travelled back to India with his wife Ritika Sajdeh and two kids. The India captain drove away home in his black Range Rover car. There were many fans who greeted Rohit with joy on his return.

Samaira had refused to leave Rohit’s side after India’s Champions Trophy win on Sunday. Rohit had put the winner’s medal on Samaira, making it one of the best moments of India’s celebrations.

Several India players have returned back to the country. The team did not return together as they will be joining their respective Indian Premier League sides, based in different parts of the country.

Rohit Sharma Not Retiring

India captain Rohit Sharma confirmed on Sunday that he would not be retiring from the ODI format. Sharma said that while he was not fully sure about playing the 2027 ODI World Cup, he would be continuing the 50-over game beyond the Champions Trophy.

“Right now, I am taking things as they come. It wouldn’t be fair for me to think too far ahead. At this moment, my focus is on playing well and maintaining the right mindset. I don’t want to draw any lines and say whether I will or won’t play in the 2027 World Cup. There’s no point in making such statements right now. Realistically, I have always taken my career one step at a time. I don’t like thinking too far into the future, and I haven’t done so in the past either. For now, I am enjoying my cricket and the time I spend with this team. I hope my teammates enjoy my presence as well. That’s all that matters at this point,” said Rohit on Star Sports.

India captain led his team from the front, playing a major role in their victory with his match-winning innings of 76 (83), studded with seven fours and three sixes. He added 105 runs for the first wicket off 112 balls with Shubman Gill getting India off to a terrific start in 252-run chase.
