Rishabh Pant proved to be the complete entertainer on Day 4 of the Edgbaston Test as he sent his bat flying and leaving the crowd and the Indian dressing room in splits. The incident occurred in the 34th over as Pant went for a big shot and lost grip of his bat, which went flying. The Indian vice-captain had to go and retrieve the bat as the crowd and the Indian dressing room saw the funny side of things.

The likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj were shown having a laugh seeing the antics from Pant, who has done this before as well. This happened during this year’s IPL during a match between LSG and PBKS in Dharamshala. In that case, Pant lost his wicket but this time around he was saved. You can see the full video below:

Dinesh Karthik and Stuart Broad, who were on commentary, also commented on things with the former Indian wicketkeeper said that Pant had lit the stadium up.

“Pant has lit this stadium alive. He lost his bat and then lost his shape,” said Karthik to Sky Sports.

Broad asked the viewers to remain seated for the Pant show as said that nothing can be predicted while the Indian vice-captain is batting.

“It’s chaos. Don’t go anywhere. You can’t predict what Pant is going to do. Even he doesn’t know!” said Broad.

Pant survives two major scares

Pant had come out with clear intent in the second innings as he was aiming to get quick runs and extend the lead. Pant hit a boundary and a big six off the third and fourth deliveries he faced and continued the onslaught.

However, Zak Crawley dropped Pant while he was batting on 10 and it was a straight-forward chance. Right after sending his bat flying, Pant almost lost his wicket as he sent a leading edge towards Chris Woakes, whose diving attempt wasn’t good enough.

Pant remained unbeaten on 41 by the end of the first session as India’s lead went past 350.
