Udit Narayan confirms he is ‘fine’ after a video of his residential building in Mumbai catches fire: ‘It was a difficult night’ | Hindi Movie News

Reports stirred the internet after a video surfaced of singer Udit Narayan’s residence catching fire. The singer has now issued an official statement about the incident, which occurred yesterday ( January 6) at the Skypan Apartments in Shastri Nagar, Andheri West, Mumbai.
The fire, which began around 9:15 pm, engulfed parts of the high-rise building where the legendary playback singer resides. According to India Today, Udit Narayan confirmed that he is safe and unharmed, describing the incident as “a difficult night.”

‘Papa, don’t worry about me. Just pray for me’, texted Aditya Narayan from hospital to father Udit Narayan after testing COVID-19 positive

The blaze resulted in the death of 75-year-old Rahul Mishra, a resident of the 11th floor in another wing of the building. Mishra, who suffered severe smoke inhalation, was rushed to Hospital but was declared “brought dead.” His relative, Raunak Mishra, sustained serious injuries and remains hospitalised.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade, headquartered in Byculla, reported that preliminary investigations suggest the fire originated from an electrical device in Mishra’s apartment. However, eyewitness accounts indicate that a diya may have ignited nearby curtains, causing the flames to spread rapidly.
Amidst the chaos, residents recalled hearing Mrs Mishra’s desperate cries for help as she ran downstairs to alert others. The building’s security staff immediately responded, but their rescue attempts were in vain. Visuals from the scene showed dense black smoke billowing out of the building as two rooms in Mishra’s flat were completely destroyed by the fire.
Reports highlighted significant challenges in the firefighting efforts, as the road leading to the residential complex was blocked, delaying swift action. Residents also experienced a power outage as a precautionary measure to prevent further damage.
By 11:30 pm, firefighting teams had managed to bring the blaze under control and began cooling operations. Witnesses described seeing shards of metal and glass falling from the damaged apartment, underscoring the intensity of the destruction.
