Vettaiyan Movie review and release LIVE Updates: FDFS celebration begins in Tamil Nadu for Superstar Rajinikanth’s film

Rajinikanth, the superstar actor is once again set to rock the big screens with his bad cop avatar after ‘Jailer’. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the movie is hitting the big screens today, October 10 featuring Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Abhirami, Rakshan among others and the music for it is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

The buzz and anticipation for the film is very high and following the trailer launch, it has been getting good response. The movie has already made $500K in pre-sales and trade analysts state that the film will gross Rs 125 crore worldwide on day 1 of its release. The film is also expected to make more than Rs 250 crore at the global box office in the first weekend given the Dussehra holidays. Fans and movie audiences are excited to see Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth share screen after three decades. While Superstar Rajinikanth plays the encounter specialist, Amitabh Bachchan plays the human right vigilante and are technically pitted against each other which would be fabulous to watch.

The film has been certified U/A with a run time of 2 hours, 43 minutes, and 25 seconds (163 minutes). The makers have sold the satellite rights to a leading Tamil network channel for Rs 65 crore and the film’s digital rights has been sold for Rs 90 crore. The film will be released on the national OTT platform, Amazon Prime Video after the film completes one month in theatres.

According to Sacnilk over 4 lakh tickets have been sold in Tamil Nadu, 19,000 tickets in Telugu and 9,9300 in Hindi on day 1. The movie in total is said to have grossed Rs 10 crore in advance ticket booking. However, when compared to Rajinikanth’s previous and last movie ‘Jailer’ , the film made Rs 18 crore ahead of the release, which is 3 times more than ‘Vettaiyan’. The Rajinikanth starrer has quite a low buzz this time even compared to Vijay’s ‘GOAT’ which was released last month.
