A senior Pakistan Army official added fuel to the fire by making a throat-slitting gesture at hundreds of protesters gathered outside the Pakistan High Commission in London, who were peacefully protesting against the terror attack in Pahalgam.
Holding celebrated Indian Airforce Group Captain Abhinandan Varthaman’s poster, the senior official mocked Indians protesting against the killing of 26 tourists by Pakistani-backed terrorists on Tuesday – drawing ire from netizens, with many calling the act “sick,” “disgusting” and a “stark reminder of the lack of civility among Pakistan’s military and diplomatic figures.”

Abhinandan was captured by the Pakistani Army after his jet crashed in a village in 2019. He was released two days later.
Video clippings of the Pakistani official’s throat-slitting gesture went viral today morning, barely a week after the terror incident. Several social media users identified the official in the video as Taimur Rahat, Defence Attache at Pakistan High Commission.
More than 500 members from the Indian and Jewish communities were outside the Pakistan High Commission in London, raising voices against the brutal killings.
“We support India because we face the same enemy: Islamist radicalisation. What happened in Pahalgam reminded us of the Hamas attack on Israel,” an Indo-Jewish protester, who was present at the protest site, told news agency ANI.
The attack drew widespread condemnation across the globe. According to survivors and eyewitnesses, the terrorists had singled out Hindu male tourists and shot them dead.
