Jenna Ortega is back as the gothic icon Wednesday Addams in a first look at WednesdaySeason 2. Netflix has revealed the second season will roll out in two parts, with the first batch of episodes premiering August 6, followed by the second on September 3.

In the new teaser, Ortega reprises her role as the deadpan teen sleuth navigating her psychic powers and the dark legacy of her family. Season 2 picks up with Wednesday deep in the halls of Nevermore Academy, continuing her mission to uncover secrets buried in both the school’s past and her own.

Ortega is also stepping behind the scenes as a producer this season. Returning cast members include Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Victor Dorobantu, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Fred Armisen.

The new season adds several heavy hitters to the cast, including Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, and Noah Taylor, along with surprise guest appearances from Christopher Lloyd, Thandiwe Newton, and Lady Gaga in an undisclosed role.

Tim Burton returns to direct episodes, joined by Paco Cabezas and Angela Robinson. Series creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are back as showrunners, with MGM Television producing.

Season 1 of Wednesday became a breakout hit for Netflix, drawing massive global viewership and launching Ortega into pop culture superstardom. With a stacked cast and a two-part release plan, Netflix is betting big on the second season becoming another midweek phenomenon.
