The two Bollywood stars, who fell in love while working together on Guru and later married in 2007, share a strong bond that Abhishek has openly praised. In a throwback conversation with Bollywood Hungama, he shared, “It’s high time that we acknowledge women as a superior species as compared to men. They tend to put things into perspective. And my wife is exceptional in that.”
According to him, he feels fortunate to have a life partner like Aishwarya, more so because of her background in the entertainment industry. “The wonderful thing about having a life partner like Aishwarya is that she is from the business. She gets it. She has been doing it slightly longer than I have. So, she knows the world,” he explained. As Abhishek noted, understanding has helped them have a “synergetic relationship” where Aishwarya knows when he needs some space or support after a terrible day.
He said he admired her for being able to handle difficult times with “utmost dignity and grace,” a quality he finds rare and deeply respects. Further describing their relationship, he noted, “Actors are emotional people, we’re very, very hyper-sensitive… I’ve never seen her explode.” He credits her with bringing balance and perspective into his life, calling himself “very lucky” to have her by his side.
