After head back to South Africa jibe, Trump ‘looking into’ deporting Elon Musk

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he would “take a look” at the possibility of deporting Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, deepening a fierce and personal feud between the two. When asked by reporters about removing Musk from the country, Trump replied, “I don’t know, we’ll have to take a look,” fuelling speculation amid ongoing hostilities.

Trump’s comment came shortly after he launched a scathing attack on Musk over government subsidies and the electric vehicle mandate. In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that Musk “may have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa”, arguing that the billionaire had received “more subsidies than any human being in history”.

He warned that without those federal contracts and tax benefits, Musk’s companies would collapse, ending rocket launches, satellites, and electric car production in the US.

“Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard look at this?” Trump added, referring to the Department of Government Efficiency, the very agency Musk once headed. “BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!”

Musk, in response, posted on his platform X, “I am literally saying CUT IT ALL. Now.”
