Islamabad: Jailed former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has now attacked the army. Imran’s morale has increased after getting relief from the court in many cases. Let us tell you that he has refused to apologize for the riots that broke out after his arrest on May 9 last year and has said that the army should apologize to him, because he was “abducted” by the Pak Rangers on the day of violence. Khan (71) was arrested by the Pak Rangers from the Islamabad High Court premises on May 9, 2023 while appearing in a corruption case.
After Imran’s arrest, supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) staged nationwide protests and riots broke out. This caused damage to civilian and military establishments across the country. Army spokesman Major General Ahmed Sharif had said on May 7 this year that any talks could take place with PTI (Imran’s party), provided the party apologized for its “politics of anarchy”. He said that he was arrested by the Rangers led by a Major General from the Islamabad High Court complex.
