If there’s one story that has saved many awake at evening, it is the story of Annabelle – a Raggedy Ann doll whose legend dates again to the Nineteen Seventies, when paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren declared it was possessed by a ‘demonic spirit’.

The notorious doll was again within the headlines after a hearth broke out this month on the historic Nottoway Plantation – now often known as Nottoway Resort – in White Castle, Louisiana. While nobody was injured within the blaze, social media customers started claiming that the doll had disappeared through the ‘Devils on the Run Tour’, a mystical tour in Louisiana, and linked its supposed disappearance to the hearth. The hearsay intensified when some vacationers claimed they hadn’t seen the doll through the tour, which was organised by the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR).

A consumer on x posted, “May 13, 2025, Annabelle, one of the haunted dolls from Monroe, Connecticut was moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. May fifteenth, the Nottoway Plantation burned down. May sixteenth, 11 inmates escaped the Orleans Parish Prison escape. The Warrens warned, Annabelle ought to by no means be moved.”

Another consumer posted, “So the streets are saying after they moved the Annabelle doll out of the Warren museum (after they explicitly stated by no means to maneuver it) she’s now gone lacking.”

Similar panic-stricken posts could possibly be seen on X.

The doll is often saved at NESPR’s Warrens’ Occult Museum, established by Ed and Lorraine Warren.

However, the hypothesis was short-lived. NESPR lead investigator Dan Rivera refuted the rumours, posting a video by which he walks by way of the museum and approaches the doll, which stays sealed inside a wood case.

Rivera reassured viewers: “Annabelle isn’t lacking; she’s not in Chicago,” including that the crew will attend the 2025 Rock Island Roadhouse Esoteric Expo on October 4 in Rock Island, Illinois.

THE HAUNTED DOLL

The Annabelle doll was reportedly given as a present to a nurse in Hartford, Connecticut, within the Nineteen Seventies. It quickly started exhibiting disturbing habits – corresponding to transferring by itself, leaving handwritten notes, and allegedly attacking somebody. The case drew the eye of the Warrens, who concluded that the doll was possessed by a demonic spirit – not a toddler’s spirit, as some initially believed. They positioned it inside a glass case and secured it inside their museum.

Since then, Annabelle has gained notoriety as one of the notorious haunted objects, inspiring quite a few movies and chilling tales.

The Warrens’ Occult Museum is positioned in Connecticut. Though it’s not open to the general public attributable to zoning restrictions, restricted entry remains to be granted to pick guests.
