Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for the US presidential election, was safe after gunshots were reported near his golf club in Florida on Sunday, news agency Associated Press reported, citing his campaign and the US Secret Service.
The Secret Service officials said that the incident occurred shortly before 2 pm (local time). However, it was not immediately clear whether the reported shots were targeted at the former president.
“The former president is safe,” according to the Secret Service.
