Dr. Manmohan Singh, the 14th Prime Minister of India and the architect of the nation’s economic reforms, passed away in New Delhi on Thursday at the age of 92. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) confirmed his demise, stating that Singh had been admitted to the emergency department, where he breathed his last despite efforts to revive him through cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Before his political career, Singh held several key administrative roles. Starting as an Economic Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Trade in 1971, he quickly ascended to positions such as Chief Economic Advisor in the Ministry of Finance, Director of the Reserve Bank of India, and Alternate Governor for India at the Asian Development Bank.
