B’desh govt mulls ban on Hasina party

Dhaka: Bangladesh’s interim government on Friday said it would take a “quick decision” on banning deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League. This comes as the student-led NCP rallied overnight demanding Hasina’s party be disbanded.

Imran’s party files plea for his release

Islamabad: Jailed former Pakistan PM Imran Khan’s party on Friday filed a petition in the High Court here seeking his release from jail, claiming a threat to his life due to the impact of the prolonged detention on his health and in view of the current situation with India.
