A Texas-based Indian-American Dhol band, Shivam Dhol Tasha Pathak, has been invited to perform in the prestigious parade from Capitol Hill to the White House following Donald Trump’s swearing-in as the 47th President of the United States on January 20.

The performance will showcase India’s rich musical heritage to millions of global viewers.

“This is a defining moment not just for the ensemble but also for the Indian community in Texas, across the US, and the world. It marks the first time a high-energy Indian traditional drum ensemble from Texas will perform on such a grand stage,” news agency PTI quoted a media release as saying.

The group is renowned for its electrifying drumming and unique fusion of traditional Indian rhythms with global influences.

Shivam Dhol Tasha Pathak has gained fame for performing beyond traditional religious events, introducing audiences worldwide to the dynamic sounds of the Dhol Tasha.

Their past performances include collaborations with African and Japanese percussionists, halftime shows for NBA and NHL games, the Howdy Modi event, and the ICC T20 World Cup opening ceremony.
