Los Angeles Mansion Party turns deadly: Teen killed, Five injured

A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed during a large mansion party in Los Angeles early Sunday morning, leaving five others injured.

The shooting occurred in the San Fernando Valley. Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers responded to reports of gunfire on Winnetka Avenue in Woodland Hills around 1:30 am.

According to LAPD, approximately 200 to 300 people attended the party when an argument escalated into gunfire.

“Multiple shots were fired. There was a large party with approximately 300 attendees, and during the event, an altercation broke out that led to gunfire. Many people fled, and in that chaos, six individuals were shot,” LAPD Lt. Guy Golan told NBC.

Witnesses stated that the suspect was being escorted out of the mansion when he opened fire on the crowd outside. The 16-year-old boy was fatally struck and died at the scene. His identity has not yet been disclosed by authorities.

Five others — aged 19, 21, 25, and two 34-year-olds, all of Hispanic origin — were injured and transported to nearby hospitals, where they remain in stable condition. No further details have been provided regarding their conditions.

The investigation is ongoing, and police have not yet released a description of the shooter.

Mansion Known for Hosting Events

Lt. Golan noted that the mansion where the shooting took place is known for hosting parties and events. However, LAPD does not consider it a “problem location.”

“There may have been a few radio calls in the past, but nothing like this,” Golan told KTLA.

The luxury home, located between Hatteras and Oxnard streets in Woodland Hills, is listed online for event rentals, with prices starting at approximately $2,100 per night.
