Shortly after the US attacked three nuclear enrichment facilities in Iran in the early hours of Sunday, US President Trump warned Iran against any retaliation, threatening “far greater attacks.” “There will either be peace or tragedy for Iran,” he said.
In a speech that lasted just over three minutes, Trump said Iran’s future held “either peace or tragedy,” and that there were many other targets that could be hit by the US military.
“If peace does not come quickly, we will go after those other targets with precision, speed and skill.”
Taking to his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said that any Iranian retaliation to US’s strikes “will be met with force far greater than what was witnessed tonight.”
Trump said that US forces launched strikes on Iran’s three major nuclear sites: Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow. He told Fox News that the underground facility at Fordow was targeted using six bunker-buster bombs, while the remaining nuclear facilities were struck with as many as 30 Tomahawk missiles.
The US deployed B-2 stealth bombers—used to carry air-to-surface missiles, including the GBU-57 bomb, reportedly used for the first time in these attacks—to carry out the strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
