U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio mentioned on Wednesday (May 28, 2025) that the United States will begin revoking visas of Chinese college students, together with these with connections to the Chinese Communist Party or learning in crucial fields.
In a press release, Mr. Rubio mentioned the division will even revise visa standards to boost scrutiny of all future visa purposes from China and Hong Kong.
The Chinese Embassy in Washington didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark.
China has the second highest variety of worldwide college students pursing greater schooling within the United States in 2023/2024 with 277,398 college students, in line with the Institute of International Education.
