Russian man dumps Porsche in trash after wife snubs it as Valentine’s Day gift

A desperate attempt to salvage a failing marriage has turned into a bizarre local spectacle in Mytishchi, near Russian capital Moscow. A man, aiming to surprise his wife with a lavish Valentine’s Day gift, gifted her a Porsche Macan, only for her to reject it and for him to subsequently dump it in a garbage container.

The extravagant gesture, intended to rekindle their relationship, ended in a public display of frustration and a damaged luxury SUV becoming an unlikely tourist attraction.

According to local media reports, the couple had been experiencing marital difficulties, prompting the husband to purchase the Porsche Macan for approximately 3 million rubles (roughly Rs 27 lakh).

The vehicle, however, had been involved in a prior accident and sustained damage. Initially, the man planned to repair the car and present it to his wife on International Women’s Day, March 8. However, he decided to surprise her early on Valentine’s Day, February 14, promising a full restoration soon.

The surprise backfired when the wife, upon seeing the damaged car wrapped in a red ribbon, reportedly felt insulted rather than touched. She refused the gift, leading to the husband’s impulsive decision to discard the vehicle.

The man proceeded to dump the Porsche into a large garbage container, a feat that has left locals bewildered. How he managed to fit the luxury SUV into the dumpster remains a mystery.

For nearly two weeks, the discarded Porsche has remained at the site, becoming a local curiosity. Residents have been flocking to the area to take photos with the abandoned vehicle, turning the garbage container into an impromptu photo booth.

The owner has yet to retrieve the vehicle or decide on its fate. Friends of the man, speaking to local media, confirmed that the lavish purchase was a last-ditch effort to save his marriage.
