U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday (July 21, 2025) shared a video on the right-wing social media platform Truth Social that showed former U.S. President Barack Obama being arrested by the FBI and put in prison.

The short video clip, which appeared to originate from a TikTok user, featured a montage of American lawmakers and legislators repeating the message “No one is above the law” before showing Mr. Trump and Mr. Obama seated together in the White House.

Suddenly, FBI agents enter and handcuff Mr. Obama before taking him away. He is later seen in orange prison-issue clothes and frowning sadly behind bars. U.S. outlet Fox News noted that the video clip was AI-generated.

This is not the first time Mr. Trump has posted morphed content meant to target his political opponents or rally up support for his causes. Earlier this year, he shared an AI-generated video of what the war-torn Gaza might look like under his administration.
