Youth beaten to death in Kozhikode-OxBig News Network

A 20-year-old youth who sustained grave injuries in an assault allegedly unleashed by three men died at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital on Saturday night (April 26, 2025). The victim was identified as Sooraj, a native of Mayanad.

The alleged physical assault took place at Chevayur following an argument between two groups of youngsters during a temple festival in the area. Police sources said there were also other suspected reasons that triggered the clash.

The three suspects involved in the incident were taken into custody for further interrogation. A case was also registered against 15 others who reportedly created a stormy scene in the area.

Sooraj’s relatives alleged that the attack was pre-planned and the victim was purposefully invited to the temple in the name of settling some local issues. They alleged that the attack was spearheaded by a man and his two sons for unknown reasons.
