“Always together in love,” read the caption of the post, tagging the four members of Hussain’s kin. The post has been receiving a lot of love since it was shared.

Shankar Mahadevan, musicians Karsh Kale, Ankur Tewari, Hariharan, and Pakistani artist Ali Sethi, liked the post. While one fan wrote, ‘Ustad ji, your legacy will continue to live on for generations!’, another one added, ‘Rest in peace master, your legacy and your teachings will love on and continue to guide people for generations. We will miss you.’

Zakir Hussain, one of the world’s most talented percussionists, was laid to rest at Fernwood Cemetery in San Francisco on Thursday. Hundreds of admirers attended his funeral to pay their respects. Sivamani and other musicians played drums nearby as a tribute to him.
Zakir Hussain, one of India’s most renowned musicians, received four Grammy Awards during his illustrious career of six decades, including three at the 66th Grammy Awards earlier this year. The son of tabla legend Ustad Alla Rakha, he was honored with the Padma Shri in 1988, the Padma Bhushan in 2002, and the Padma Vibhushan in 2023.
